About the author:

Chanakya was an Indian teacher, philosopher and royal advisor. He managed the first Maurya emperor Chandragupta’s rise to power at a young age. He is widely credited for having played an important role in the establishment of the Maurya Empire, which was the first empire in archaeologically recorded history to rule most of the Indian subcontinent. Chanakya is traditionally identified as Kautilya or Vishnu Gupta, who authored the ancient Indian political treatise called Arthasastra. As such, he is considered as the pioneer of the field of economics and political science in India and his work is thought of as an important precursor to Classical Economics.

Book Description:

Chanakya was known by names like Kautilya and Vishnugupta and played multiple roles of being a teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist and royal advisor. Arthashastra and Chanakya Neeti were the two important books written by him. Chanakya Neeti is a collection of aphorisms, said to be selected by Chanakya from the various Shastras. The topics discussed are morality, ethics, governance and several others. Chanakya is regarded as a great thinker and diplomat in India. Many Indian nationalists regard him as one of the earliest thinkers who dreamt of a united India, spanning the entire subcontinent.

My verdict:

The Cover page is beautiful . The cover is of the famous look of Chanakyas tilak and hairdo. Sanskrit scriptures are also given in the cover. Title is apt and just. The book is divided into 6 parts, 5 parts pertaining to life & the last part comprise the sutras.
It is a collection of aphorisms dealing with practical aspects of that happens in everyone's life. All the aphorisms are described in a detailed manner with simple english and sutras were in sanskrit.
Each of the slokas in the book is first written in Sanskrit, then the same Sanskrit slokas are written exactly in English with the corresponding explanations been explained in such a beautiful manner.
This book contains all principles along with explanations and special notes by Chankaya. The book can be completed in one sting and is very gripping. This book provides you a different perspective to the life you are already living in. It makes you think about your own life. Highly recommend for everyone, those who wants a happier and healthy life.
