About the author:

Hywel Richard Pinto, born in Bombay and brought up in Mumbai has always loved reading, right from the time he was in school, beginning with Enid Blyton's Famous Five and moving on to The Hardy Boys once he had exhausted all of Enid Blyton's series of mystery novels.
Hywel works full time in a Media agency as a Sr. Director - Media Planning.
In addition to this book, he has also written a murder mystery set in Mumbai by the name of "The Monday Murder" which was shortlisted in the top 20 manuscripts from nearly 300 entries by DNA-Hachette India in January 2013 during their Hunt For The Next Indian Bestseller contest.

Blurb:

The year is 2250 and we are witness to a historical trial of one of the Silver Fleet's youngest and most promising Captain, Richard Sparks who has been accused of murdering a fellow crew member during the Silver Star's lengthy trip to Jupiter's moon - Europa. But the crew are divided as to whether the Captain is to blame for the fiasco or there was a bigger conspiracy on board. The Silver Star was on a search and rescues mission for one of her sister ships - The Silver Wind and if they locate the missing ship or finding any surviving crew the mission wouldthen move onto becoming a research mission. Is this the reason there is a murderer on board the Silver Star? The key suspect / conspirator of the murder is 1st Officer Mario Grant, who is thought to be dead by the end of the mission. However, his version of the story shows just how he was cheated and was coerced into smuggling resources off the Silver Star. Is he truly as innocent as he shows others he is?

My Verdict:

Europa written by Hywel Pinto is a science fiction thriller and fantasy. The author has written Europa with a different thinking as the novel starts with year 2250. The story revolves around Europa, a moon of Jupiter.
The story of Europa however sees a crew of astronauts and biologists travel to Europa, the moon of planet Jupiter, in search of earlier mission survivors and collect samples from the surface. There are two stories running parallel in the novel. Writing a sci-fi, imagining future technology and make it interesting isn't a easy work. But our author crafted everything in a such a interesting way. You could imagine the number of twists and turns this storyline possess. There are few mistakes . But if you ignore it then it is a interesting story. Language is appreciable. Narration style is good. Sci-fi lover can easily get addicted with the storyline. Allover a nice read.
